On Saturday, Nov. 7, the 2020 Scholarship Gala, which was the first-ever virtual Gala, proved to be a rousing success! The Sage Foundation offered an outstanding one million dollar match, and together we raised nearly $2,000,000 for student scholarships, surpassing our previous record of $1,500,000 in 2019!

Thank you to everyone who logged in, chatted, and donated. We are honored and grateful to have the support of current and former trustees, community leaders, corporate sponsors, parents, alumni, and friends. A special thank you to our 2020 Gala Honorary Chairs Larry and Hotie Hard. 

The event was live-streamed from Cornish’s Main Campus Center in the black box theater, and alum Jinkx Monsoon emceed the virtual gala, accompanied by alum Major Scales. Jinkx shared her own story of being a scholarship student and asked everyone to be generous, and they were—thank you to everyone who donated. We extend a big thank you to Jinkx Monsoon for making the most of a virtual event.

Alum Reggie Watts came to us live from LA and shared two original songs created just for the virtual scholarship gala. Alum Rizo shared a special message, song, and world-premiered a music video. SassyBlack led the After Party with celebratory grooves.

We thank everyone who logged in – your participation in the chat really made the whole experience interactive and fun – and congrats to those who won Continuing Education classes, a painting by Alum Steve Jensen, and Xbox Series X!
