Celebrating New Spaces: Ribbon Cutting
Friday, Oct. 21 marked the opening celebration and ribbon cutting for the new Cornish creative spaces: Raisbeck Auditorium and the Behnke Family Gallery. Both spaces are located at the Ivey (right across the street from Main Campus Center) on the corner of Lenora and Boren.
Both spaces opened for use in September with the Neddy Artist Award exhibition at the Behnke Family Gallery and various classes and Music concerts at the Raisbeck Auditorium.
Thank you to everyone from the local community who came to the ribbon cutting event to celebrate years of hard work. President Raymond Tymas-Jones addressed the gathering with appearances from donors Sherry Raisbeck (Trustee, Art Alum ’88) and Carl Behnke, as well as representatives from Holland Parter Group, the Mayor’s Office, and more. Representatives of our A/V systems facilitated a sound demonstration featuring student performers, as well as the cinema experience the space offers. After the ribbon cutting, the audiences was treated to additional peformances from music, dance, and theater students.
