My films explore elements of our landscape and cultural refrains through the materiality of film. Filmmaking processes experiment with non-toxic chemistry, hand-painting, cyanotype, montage of 16mm and Super 8mm footage. The focus of my scholar work is on documentary film, the historiographical function of cinema, the consideration of film aesthetics in relation to spectatorship. I participate in the judging committee of Seattle Social Justice Film Festival. I have taught Digital Filmmaking to youth in Seattle. At Cornish, I teach Introduction to Experiment Film at Cornish.
