Rachael Benson is a video artist who merges the impersonal experience of watching art through a screen and the intimacy of live performance. Manipulating devices like symbolism and metaphor, her work interacts with an audience like friends sharing secrets in confidence. By exploiting the inherent emotionality of sound as well as being playful with the sculptural and interactive potential of digital video, her work strives to connect and provoke mutual feelings. Rachael is a Cornish alum and received her masters of fine arts in film and video from California Institute of the Arts; she has curated video only art shows at D.A.D.S (Digital and audio display space), and shown work at the Northwest Film Forum and Whammy! in Los Angeles.
