Lauren Lavín

Lauren Lavín is a writer, editor, and instructor who specializes in creative nonfiction, composition, and satire. Her work appears in Triangle House Review, Hobart, HAD, Jarnal Vol. 1 (Mason Jar Press), Sundog, The Hard Times: The First 40 Years (Mariner Books), Reductress, and elsewhere. She is the Nonfiction Editor for Western-themed literary magazine Word West Revue. In 2021, she co-founded digital publisher Surface Dweller Studios, and was managing editor for flagship interactive weird fiction anthology Los Suelos, CA— proceeds from which continue to benefit migrant farm workers via the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation. From 2018 to 2022, she was an editor for satirical punk culture site The Hard Times, and was named one of the best humorists writing today by Paste Magazine. Currently, she sings and plays guitar with Seattle neofolk band Nesting.
