Jacob Alfredo Hutchison

he/him/his

For the better part of two decades, Jacob Alfredo Hutchison has been teaching undergraduates in the Puget Sound area. In 2018 he received his Ph.D. in Theater History, Theory, and Criticism from the University of Washington’s School of Drama. His dissertation, The Dissent of Man: Stephen Colbert and the Evolution of Recursive Parody, examines the relationship between The Colbert Report's satiric character and an increasingly performative, and increasingly fractured, public discourse. He has presented his scholarship at several major academic theater conferences, including ASTR, IFTR, MATC, and CDC.
Jacob Alfredo currently teaches theater history and theory at Cornish College of the Arts, and introductory theater and acting at Cascadia College in Bothell.
