Cornish College of the Art’s Art Department is proud to present The Freakshow Show: 2024 ART BFA Exhibition. This exhibition showcases the boundless creativity and talent of our graduating seniors. Join us as we celebrate the culmination of years of dedication and passion from our emerging artists.

The exhibition is on view at the 9th Ave. Gallery (2014 9th Ave, Seattle, WA) from March 29th – April 11th. There will be a Public Opening on Friday, March 29th from 6pm – 9pm. The gallery will be open Monday-Friday 10am – 4pm, and Saturday & Sunday 12pm – 4pm.

Meet the Artists

“There are two types of students who thrive at Cornish: those who arrive knowing they can focus on being a painter, sculptor, photographer, etc., and those who know they need the time and space to experiment, take risks, and play between two or more disciplines.

Throughout this exhibition you will see various approaches to an interdisciplinary studio practice in the visual arts.  The diversity of the work presented spans the entire spectrum of digital and traditional approaches to contemporary art making, from installation and photography to paintings on canvas and ceramic sculpture. The subject matter represents a similar breadth with explorations of content as varied as memory, adolescence, marginalization, personal narrative and the formal relationship between image and object, to name a few.  This exhibition celebrates the various paths each student takes throughout their arts education at Cornish and the community they’ve built along the way.

Each body of work is the culmination of four years of developing an individual voice as an artist, citizen and innovator. ”
