Cornish Dance Capstone Concert – celebrating emerging movement artists in the PNW

Seattle, WA – February 10, 2025 – The Cornish College of the Arts Dance seniors present their Capstone Projects in the form of choreography, performance, site-specific work, and screendance. These students engage in a creative process that reflects on their dance research over their time at Cornish and culminates in a shared performance of diverse works at the Cornish Playhouse on February 28th & March 1st, 2025.

This year’s concert highlights the work of Sophie Bunnell, Marlo Nettel, Talia Roybal, Emma Sumanaweera, and Angela Ye, and includes guest choreography by Seattle-based dance artist, educator, and community organizer, Alicia Mullikin.

Alicia Mullikin is an Indigenous Chicana dance artist, educator, and community organizer. After completing her BFA at Cornish, she went on to receive her Masters Degree at Cal State University of Long Beach. She is also the visionary behind El Sueño, a company that uses art as a way to spotlight and serve marginalized communities. In 2023, Alicia was one of only fifteen national artists selected as an Arts Advocacy Leadership Fellow by the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures. Her work has been featured from coast to coast at numerous schools, organizations, and art galleries. For more info follow @elsueno_art on Instagram.
