Class Description

The dynamic literary medium of comics and graphic novels uses a versatile language that’s all its own. In this all-levels hands-on class, students will develop essential skills for powerful, versatile storytelling in words and pictures, including writing, drawing, visual language, crafting narratives, developing characters, inking, and production including scanning, Photoshop, and printing. Students will craft several short comics, which will be collected in a final mini-comic at the end of the session.

The final week of the program focuses on how to present our work and mount an exhibition, culminating in a gallery event and celebration on July 31st. Students, parents, friends and family are invited to tour the gallery exhibition and college fair.

Back to class safely – While we do hope to continue our in-person learning, please note that this learning experience may need to evolve to an online or hybrid learning platform based on the safety regulations and recommendations by the city and state.
