Everybody is a modern adaptation of the 15th-century morality play Everyman, one of the first recorded plays in the English language. The play features the unique casting quirk of using a lottery system to define the roles of the play. Each actor must memorize the entire script and be prepared to play any role. This is meant to symbolize the randomness of death.

World Premiere produced by Signature Theatre, New York City (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder)

EVERYBODY is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com

Meet the Cast

Olivia Freeman - Usher/God/Understanding

(she/her)

Olivia Freeman is a fourth-year Acting and Original Works major. She is an actor, singer-songwriter, and journalist with a deep passion for the arts. Last year, you may have seen her on the Cornish Playhouse stage as Joy in Aloha, Say the Pretty Girls or as the Dormouse in Alice by Heart. Olivia is thrilled to be part of this production and to collaborate with such a talented group of artists!

Bella Lawrence - Death

Graduating with her BFA in Acting & Original Works this December, Bella Lawrence is a playwright, actor, deviser, and performance artist presently based in Seattle, WA. Recent credits include Hermione in THE WINTER’S TALE, Myrna in ALOHA SAY THE PRETTY GIRLS, and Miss Rasch in her senior thesis performance of REQUEST PROGRAM. She is deeply grateful for another opportunity to work with Hattie, and perpetually inspired by her peers and faculty here at Cornish.

Camila Diaz - Love

Camila is a second-year Acting and Original Works major at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University. Everybody marks her first MainStage production at Cornish, and she couldn’t be more excited to take on the role of Love in this bold and thought-provoking play. She’s honored to share this journey with such a talented team and looks forward to many more productions to come. Enjoy the show — and cheers to new beginnings!

Ellie Nucci - Girl/Time

(she/her)

I am thrilled to be doing my third show at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University and even more thrilled to be working with this amazing text, cast and crew. A big thank you to Kate Myer for believing in me.

Riven Beckwith - Voice, Evil, U/S Death

(they/them)

Riven is a third year Musical Theatre major and is excited to be working with director Hattie Claire Andres again. You may know Riven as the understudy for Will and Billy in “Aloha Says the Pretty Girls” or from their student film roles, most notably the star in Sarah Weistaner-Shutters’s silent short film, “The Park”. They would like to congratulate their high school drama teacher, Scott Burnett, on his retirement. “I wouldn’t be where I am without you. May your toothpaste never run out.”

Emrys Jean Brown - Everybody/Stuff

Emrys Jean is a 3rd year Acting and Original Works major. They performed in ‘Aloha, Say the Pretty Girls’, directed by Hattie Claire Andres, ‘The Winter’s Tale’, directed by Leah Adcock-Starr, and ‘The Baltimore Waltz’, directed by Riley J Ellis. They thank their family, friends, and professors for all their support!

Lastly, she’d like to thank her family and friends for nurturing her creative spirit.

Anton Busch - Somebody

(he/him)

I’m Anton! I am currently an Acting and Original Works major here at Cornish, and have recently participated their productions of Amelie and The Winters Tale. I am originally from Durham North Carolina, and still think its beaches are better than here. I am so grateful for this amazing cast and directing team that I have been able to work with to build this world!

She is grateful to Hattie for her guidance and to her partner Brendan, for always helping her find her spark, and for being her light.

Kate Loble - Assistant Stage Manager

(she/her)

Now that she is a junior at Cornish, she plans on working on similar atypical theater productions, continuing to work in tech, and crafting in her free time.
