Seattle, WA—The Behnke Family Gallery at Cornish College of the Arts is pleased to present The Dark Season by Preston Wadley. Preston Wadley, born in Los Angeles, CA, is an artist and educator working in Washington State. He received his MFA from the University of Washington. Wadley’s projects have twice been selected to Photolucida’s Critical Mass Top 50 and is currently Professor Emeritus at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. The Behnke is proud to present this work concurrently with his large solo exhibition, Abstract Truth, on view at Bellevue Arts Museum, through December 31, 2023.

“This collection of photographs is not so much a ‘body of work’ as it is ‘the work’ of my body moving through the ether of the pandemic during lockdown, in an effort to reclaim and bring close experiences I had taken for granted. There are no guarantees. The result is a transition from an isolated interior to a ‘hyper observant’ interpretation of a desolated, once populated exterior.”
