The Untold Yippee Project – Meet the Cast & Crew

October 21, 2026
The Untold Yippie Project by Becca Schlossberg at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University production | black and white images of a protests with text to promote theater events.

by Becca Scholssberg
Directed by Rhonda J. Soikowski

Based on true events, this docudrama follows fictional research historian Shirley Bowlby as she embarks on a journey that transforms her understanding of activism. While archiving the chaotic 1970 Yippie Invasion of Disneyland, Bowlby seeks objective historical data from memory, interviews, and witness journals with a focus on the movement’s mercurial leader, Terry Altman. In addition to Terry’s signature style of grand political theater, however, Bowlby begins to uncover a deeper trend. Maybe true radicalism doesn’t only live on crowded stages, but also in the everyday choices of how we live our lives. As her perspective evolves, she discovers that a quiet, profound love for humanity can be revolutionary in and of itself.

Note: Our production includes language and situations specific to the cultural landscape of the United States in 1970 and may be uncomfortable for some audiences.
