Bret Torbeck

Bret Torbeck joined Cornish College of the Arts with thirty years of experience working as a professional stage manager and as a member of Actors’ Equity Association. Most recently, he was stage manager for Seattle Rep's Public Works production of The Tempest.
Torbeck has worked in regional theaters across the country and on the national tours of Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, and Proof. He has stage-managed at the Alliance Theatre (where he was Resident Stage Manager), Seattle Rep, Seattle Opera, ACTheatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. His national and international corporate work include events for Ste Michelle Wine Estates, Boeing, Microsoft, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has also enjoyed teaching stage management for the University of Washington's School of Drama.
