Bret Torbeck

Bret Torbeck joined Cornish College of the Arts with over twenty-five years of experience working as a professional stage manager and as a member of the Actors’ Equity Association. He recently served as resident stage manager at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre, when the company designed and executed a $30 million renovation to their main stage.
Torbeck has worked in regional theaters across the country and on the national tours of Phantom of the Opera, Spamalot, and Proof. Torbeck has stage-managed at Seattle Rep, the 5th Avenue Theatre, ACTheatre, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. His national and international corporate work include events for Microsoft, Heinz, Cisco, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Valve Corporation. He has also enjoyed teaching stage management for the University of Washington's School of Drama.
