Music & Dance Intensive
Class Description
This intensive has been canceled for Summer 2020.
Through a variety of lessons and activities, students will work with our Cornish instructors to build a base of skills in music and dance. Each student will explore movement by using space, rhythm, locomotion, sequencing, and improvisation, while introducing concepts of ballet and contemporary dance. By using voices, bodies, and instruments, they will learn rhymes, rhythms, and songs from classical to samba.
Students will experience playing music with other children, discover musical concepts such as rhythm, tempo, dynamics, and melody. By combining the two disciplines, students will be able to experience and explore their own forms, self-expression, and spontaneity.

Dress Requirements
For the dance section:
Female Identifying Students: Pink leotard, Socks (pink or skin tone – match shoes), Ballet Shoes (pink or skin tone)
Male Identifying Students: white leotard or t-shirt, black tights or leggings, white socks, white ballet shoes
Non-Binary: Either Female or Male options
For the music section, please wear clothes that are comfortable to move in.
Non-decorative leotards only (ie: no mesh, lace, holes/cutouts, zippers), no halter leotards, no logos, no rips or tears
Warmups: At the discretion of the instructor, students may wear leg warmers or form fitting sweaters during colder weather
