Seattle University’s Department of Public Safety is part of the Student and Campus Life Team. We are made up of full-time non-commissioned professional staff and part-time student staff who are charged with, and committed to, protecting the lives and property of our community and of the visiting public. We have chosen lives and careers of service, compassion, and guardianship. We are committed to Seattle University’s mission, vision, and values, and most of all, to the just, compassionate, and equitable treatment of all people. We are officers, dispatchers, supervisors, and administrators, but above all, we are members of the Seattle University community.

Clery Act and Crime Statistics Reporting
Seattle University makes a good faith effort to collect crime statistics for all Clery Act crimes committed in applicable geographic locations from all police agencies with jurisdiction for Seattle University. Each year an email notification is made to all enrolled students that provide the website to access this report. Faculty and staff receive similar notifications via email.
The Department of Public Safety also works in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies, Housing & Residence Life, and the Dean of Students and the Office of Institutional Equity. Each entity provides updated information on their educational efforts and programs to comply with the Act.
Campus crime and referral statistics include those reported to Public Safety, designated campus officials (including but not limited to Directors, Chairs, Deans, Housing & Residence Life staff, et al), and local law enforcement agencies.
Copies of the current campus safety policies and the Clery Report may be obtained online or by sending a request to the Department of Public Safety.
