2024 Housing Campaign

About the Campaign

At Cornish, we are dedicated to providing an environment where talented individuals can pursue their artistic passions and thrive academically. However, we recognize that financial barriers often hinder students from fully realizing their potential. One of the most pressing challenges our students face is the cost of housing.

With studios, fitness centers, game rooms, and lounges boasting city views, Cornish Commons supports artistic exploration and academic success. Its central location allows students to seamlessly integrate their living, learning, and social experiences in Seattle’s vibrant cultural scene.

With housing expenses amounting to $5,000 per semester, many students find themselves struggling to afford accommodations while pursuing their studies. In recognition of this challenge, we strive to provide housing scholarships to lessen the financial burden on our students. Historically, we have been able to offer housing scholarships to approximately 30% of our student body.

Your support will allow students to allocate their financial resources towards essential educational materials, resources for classes, and other academic needs, ultimately enhancing their overall learning experience. Your generosity will not only provide immediate relief to students but will also empower them to focus on their studies and artistic growth without the added stress of financial instability.  With enrollment reaching numbers higher than pre-pandemic, the demand for housing support has increased significantly. Please consider a $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, or more contribution today to support our housing scholarship campaign and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.

About Cornish Commons

Cornish Commons is across the street from Cornish College of the Arts’ Main Campus Center and Nellie’s Café in the heart of downtown Seattle. From the first floor to the 20th, this brand new building provides places for students to do the serious work they have come to do. The ground floor “living room” features a fireplace and meeting spaces, as well as our Welcome Desk, which is staffed 24-hours a day. The first floor is also home to the office of Student Life for Cornish College of the Arts. The floor above features four large theater classroom spaces, an additional lounge and conference space for students and faculty to work on artistic and community activities.

The residence hall occupies the fourth through 19th floors, features a variety of single, double, and triple rooms, all with private bathrooms, and houses a community of 430 students. The 20th floor is reserved just for you and your fellow residents.
