Corrie Befort is a dance artist working between choreography, visual, and textile design to translate sensation-based ideas into performances, objects, sets, films and scores. "Unnamed Shapes" is her current experimental performance project. Corrie co-directs hybrid company LIMITS with sound artist Jason E Anderson, intersects often with NYC dance artist/scientist Beth Graczyk and Seattle composer Tom Baker and co-directed Salt Horse (2008-2015). She creates scenography for artists including Mark Haim and Cherdonna/Jody Kuehner. A soloist, ensemble dancer, and improviser, she recently appeared with B.S.T.S, Katherine Cook, and Scott/Powell. Corrie teaches and supports inclusive dance practices Dance for Parkinson’s, Autism Movement Therapy, Seattle’s Path With Art Program, and SFDI's Start Where You Are. Currently working between the rural Palouse of Eastern Washington and Seattle, Corrie's award-winning films, sets, and performances have been presented and commissioned in the US, Japan, and Belgium.
