Amelia Bolyard aka Solvej Noa

Amelia Bolyard (Solvej Noa) was trained in Ballet, Graham, Jazz, Musical Theater dance, and Character (Flamenco) in the preparatory program at Cornish College. Additionally, she is trained in Afro-brazilian dance and self-taught in the street style "House". After completing her training at Cornish, Amelia danced for multiple Seattle contemporary and ballet companies. Amelia has taught all levels of ballet, jazz, modern and most recently, House over her 20 years as an instructor at her alma mater. Amelia has choreographed original works for Cornish's (former) Preparatory department and the college's Musical Theater program. In spring 2023, Amelia will debut a new piece for Cornish Dance Theater. In response to the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, Amelia created a self-care conditioning and free-movement sequence called Joy of Dance Experience (J.O.D.E) which utilizes pilates, yoga, feldenkrais and conditioning to support the holistic health of movement artists.
