Behind the Scenes at the Winter New Works Festival

Theater student Winter Mallon was assigned the stage management of an original work in her first year. Working on "The Pigs in Trenchcoats" as a part of Cornish’s Winter New Works Festival, she gained new insights into the strenuous task of working behind the scenes.

Publicizing A Need For Change

Cornish design students created posters for a show addressing numerous violations of human rights. The exhibit, entitled "Human Rights 70 Years on," was displayed at the Cornish Gallery from November 30 to December 8, 2018. The show was also digitally displayed at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

First year Theater student Winter Mallon found this fall's Theater productions illuminated points taught in her Humanities & Sciences classes. "Vinegar Tom" and "Men on Boats" both used of all female casts made clear the futility of a power structure based around gender.

Platforms of Exchange 2018

A collaborative exhibition, Platforms of Exchange fills three galleries at Cornish College of the Arts. Four groups of juniors and seniors in Art created the exhibitions in a student-led response to a series of prompts. Opening night is November 2, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Cornish Interior Architecture Students Dive Deep into Design at Friday Harbor Labs

Genevieve Tremblay (Interim Chair, Creative Corridor) and Julie Myers (Chair, Interior Architecture) led a 3-day site visit and design challenge for the junior and senior Cornish Interior Architecture students at Friday Harbor Laboratories, a marine science research and education center on San Juan Island. In Fall of 2016, Cornish announced a new Interior Architecture program, led by founding Chair, Julie Myers.
