Voice at Cornish

Class Description

Voice at Cornish is designed specifically for young singers interested in learning about jazz, pop, R&B, and other contemporary vocal styles. The workshop provides students with an opportunity to develop as artists through daily collaboration with professional musicians in the industry and the nationally renowned vocal faculty at Cornish College of the Arts. The week encompasses the full spectrum of the singer’s art: vocal technique, interpretation, improvisation, performance techniques, ensemble rehearsal with a band, and special topics. Singers will leave the week with a clearer understanding of what is required to be a vocalist in today’s world.

This class track provides the perfect follow-up to the Voice 101 course the week prior which provides a solid vocal technique foundation.

Who Should Enroll: The workshop has been designed for talented high school and college singers, ages 14+.

Daily Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm with a break for lunch, and a concluding performance at the end of the week in PONCHO Concert Hall on the Cornish campus.
