Students will develop necessary skills to build a personal, thoughtful and technically proficient portfolio for successful application to leading accredited art schools.
With the aid of their instructor, students will select pieces from their other classes to include in their working portfolios. Letters of intent and statements of purpose will be covered as well as basic research on the AICAD (Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design) colleges and other NASAD (National Association of Schools of Art and Design) schools.
Basic instruction on how to document artwork as well as the creation of a digital portfolio will also be covered.
The final week of the program focuses on how to present our work and mount an exhibition, culminating in a gallery event and celebration on July 31st. Students, parents, friends and family are invited to tour the gallery exhibition and college fair.
Back to class safely – While we do hope to continue our in-person learning, please note that this learning experience may need to evolve to an online or hybrid learning platform based on the safety regulations and recommendations by the city and state.
