Class Description

We offer a few different enrollment points throughout the year.  Please contact us at preparatorydance@cornish.edu for more information.

This class meets 2x per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Pointe work is the cumulative result of gradual training of the whole body. Readiness for pointe work is contingent upon many factors. Factors that determine pointe readiness include physiologic development, anatomical facility, strength of technique, hypermobility of the feet and ankles, length and frequency of study, attendance habits, maturity and past injury. Students entering Ballet 6 Pointe must have had 1 to 2 years of pointe instruction and an assessment by a Preparatory Dance Instructor. Each student is assessed independently to determine the appropriate level of pointe training.
