Intro to Editing Concepts: Adobe Premiere

Class Description

Editing is about good storytelling. Filmmaking is a collaborative art and editors play a key role in the shaping of a film story. Good editing is so much more than learning editing software or flashy techniques.

In this introduction to editing, you will learn the practical theories of editing by examining the editing techniques of great films as well as work on editing the raw footage of a real film yourself. You will receive a robust introduction to Adobe Premiere Pro, but we will quickly move to open-ended editing projects where you will wrestle with editing and story dilemmas and choices that will help you develop your own intuition and style.

We believe learning editing is much more than following a tutorial step by step and making an exact reproduction of an example project. Each student’s editing project will be unique because each person is a unique storyteller.
