Lisa Norman
Associate Professor
Fundamentals of Acting, Sophomore
Lisa is a performer and teacher who joined the Cornish faculty in 2004. She worked many seasons with Tennessee Repertory Theater, the Clarence Brown Company, Mockingbird Public Theater, and South Carolina Repertory in plays such as Dangerous Liaisons, Hamlet, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, and Dancing at Lughnasa. Highlights of her nearly-70 commercial, industrial, film and TV appearances include Disney’s Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken and guest-starring appearances in Matlock. Acting work in Seattle includes Seattle Shakespeare Company, Freehold’s Engaged Theater and 14/48 Theater Festival; she also coaches (Seattle Children’s Theater, Intiman, Village Theater, Strawberry Workshop). Lisa has taught acting at the Univ. of South Carolina, the Univ. of Tennessee and Marymount Manhattan College (NYC). In 2007, she adapted and directed The Beggar’s Opera for Cornish. Lisa earned an MFA degree in Acting from the Univ. of Tennessee, with additional training at RADA, and with Voice Master Cicely Berry. She is a long-time member of SAG, AFTRA, AEA.
