Caroline Brown

Caroline Brown is an artist, facilitator, and educator and with over twelve years of experience developing and implementing community-based arts programming in the US and abroad.  Her interest in use of the arts as a tool for social change began while completing her BFA in acting under the guidance of Kristin Linklater at Emerson College.  In 2006, she received her MA in Theater and Media for Development from the University of Winchester, UK.  Highlights of Caroline’s Applied Theater work have included collaborations with self defined AIDS widows in rural Kenya, refugee children in the UK school system, incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals in the US criminal justice system, military veterans and their family members, and BABES Network – YWCA: A Seattle based program supporting women living with HIV. Most recently, Caroline has worked as a teaching artist in the Seattle area with Compass Housing Alliance, Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG), Path with Art, and Freehold Engaged Theater Program at Women’s Correctional Center of Washington. Outside of her facilitation work, Caroline works on the External Affairs team at the YWCA.
