Althea Hukari

Acting

Althea Hukari returns to Seattle where she was Head of Freehold Studio’s Intro to Acting Series, as well as an actor, director and performance coach. Althea received her BA from Oberlin College, studied with Klauniada, Pasqualini-Smith and at University of Washington’s Professional Actors Training Program. Her solo show, My Own Private Masha, secured her an Artist Grant from the Seattle Arts Commission. The resulting play, The Orchard, won an Oregon Literary Fellowship, Coho Theatre’s Fresh Northwest New Work Award, and was featured in the 2009 Fertile Ground Festival in Portland, OR. Althea has been living, teaching, writing and directing plays in her home town of Hood River, OR, since 2000.
