Summer at Cornish’s Theater program offers a rigorous pre-college program, and a number of exciting, intensive performance experiences for students ages 15 to 18 who want to explore the performing arts in a professional art school setting. You will hone your skills, learn new techniques from working artists, and meet other students passionate about theater. With a variety of scheduling options, Summer at Cornish provides a perfect platform to expand your knowledge, grow as an individual, develop strong audition pieces, potentially earn college credit, and get a real taste of college life. You asked and we listened! Based on student and faculty feedback we are extending our Theater Pre-College Session from 3 weeks to 4 weeks for Summer at Cornish 2013, and you will now earn college credit for it!

Our four week pre-college program prepares you in a comprehensive and rigorous fashion for the real challenges of art school and college life, and students earn two college credits. The foundation series includes Foundations & Scene Study, Perfecting the College Audition and Theater History. Individual Elective Courses run from 1 to 4 pm and include courses such as stage combat, improvisation, stage makeup and musical theater. Cornish is proud to present a final performance of student work on Friday, August 2.
If tuition is paid in full by May 3, 2013, a 10% discount is available.

One Week Intensive Session
August 5 – August 9
Our one-week intensives are designed for the student who wants to dig deeper. These intensives are Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm, with a one-hour break for lunch. Intensives provide 30 contact hours over five days with our stellar faculty. You will come to understand a particular medium with breadth and depth. These courses make a welcome week-long addendum to the pre-college program or may be taken on their own. Please note credit is not available for one-week intensives. All levels are welcome.
