Summer at Cornish

Summer: Housing

Summer at Cornish residence students will interact with a community of artists, dancers, performers, and musicians from near and far.

For students living in the residence hall, Cornish’s Housing and Residence Life Office strives to provide a safe and secure living environment that encourages the personal and artistic growth for all students.

Summer students in residence have access to a full-time, live-in staff, and each resident will be assigned a program assistant who performs a nightly check-in for all students. Resident program assistants are currently-enrolled Cornish students who are trained in community-building, problem-solving, and emergency procedures. Summer students in residence will have access to the College two evenings per week for additional studio or rehearsal time to further develop their work. Chaperoned activities such as guided tours of Seattle, gallery and museum visits, movie nights and outings to local parks and beaches are also provided on evenings and weekends for summer students in residence.

Who can apply for summer housing?

Cornish housing is only available to summer students ages 14 to 18. To be eligible for housing, summer students must be enrolled in a full course-load (i.e., taking classes Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 4 PM).

What is the housing like?

The summer residence building is conveniently located two blocks from our Main Campus Center, very close to the heart of downtown Seattle and the Space Needle. Rooms are double occupancy, have a private bath and are much larger than typical residence hall rooms.

How much does it cost?

The cost of living in the residence halls is $650/week per person. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, as well as 24-hour supervision, transportation and activities fees. Airport shuttles can also be reserved for Summer at Cornish students traveling to and from the airport at a cost of $50 each way.

What Students Are Saying

“It has been an absolutely amazing experience to attend Summer at Cornish! I grew not only as an artist from my classes and the incredible instructors, but also as an individual from staying in the dorms with a group of artists who were all interested in the visual and performing arts. I am definitely applying to Cornish for college!”
