Exploration of how the voice works leading into the foundations of freeing the natural voice for the performing artist. This class will culminate in the creation of a vocal warm up and series of skills that will serve the continued growth of their vocal instrument for years to come.

Ellen Boyle is an Associate Professor of Theater at Cornish College of the Arts where she has taught for the last 16 years. As an actor she has worked with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Seattle Rep, Seattle Opera, Seattle Children's Theater, Bathhouse Theater and most recently played Clytemnestra in ELECTRA at the Seattle Shakespeare Festival. She has also performed internationally in Germany, Greece, Japan and Cyprus. As a voice/text coach she has worked at ACT, the Intiman, the Seattle Rep and Theater Schmeater. A yoga practitioner for 28 years, Ellen has spent the last 11 years in continuous study of the art of teaching and living yoga acquiring over 800 hours of study and her certification as an E-500hr Experienced Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance. She currently teaches yoga at Cornish and Seattle Yoga Arts.
