Prepare to roll up your sleeves and flex your theater muscles for this pre-college theater foundations course. In Foundations and Scene Study, we will learn how to dissect an established play and grow a theater piece from the inside out by following techniques that mine the text and fully realize the playwright's intent. Students will earn two college credits upon successful completion of this class.
By analyzing the text in collaboration with other acting/theater disciplines (history/dramaturgy, voice and speech, movement, scene work) we will begin to unlock the play and discover what is required to approach each specific role. Come prepared to experiment and have fun, exploring the creative processes and methodologies available to you in the world of theater.
