A workshop designed to develop the student’s talent in the performance of musical theatre. Students will be coached through group and solo performances of scenes and songs from a wide variety of musicals.
Students will be taught staging, script/lyric analysis, character development and performance skills. Students will explore the unique acting demands of performing in the musical theatre while perfecting their performance of a selection of musical numbers.
Through the course of this week each student will have the opportunity to work intensely on a solo of their choice.

Katherine Strohmaier
Instructor
Katherine is a local actor, vocal coach, and music director. Most recently, she served as music director for Cornish's production of BAT BOY: THE MUSICAL. She can be seen at the 5th Avenue Theatre this summer in PIRATES OF PENZANCE and in their concert production of HAIRSPRAY.
She has also appeared onstage locally at Village Theatre, Seattle Children's Theatre, Showtunes, Centerstage, and Mount Baker Theatre, and as a soloist with the Seattle Symphony. She is proud to be a part of Seattle's vibrant performing arts community, and especially appreciates its attention to new works and budding artists.

Stephanie Merrow
Instructor
Stephanie Lynn Merrow holds a Master’s degree in Acting and Dance and has been teaching drama and dance, directing and choreographing for all ages since 1997.
Currently, Stephanie teaches, directs, and choreographs for Cornish College of the Arts Summer Program, Village Theatre, Mt. Si High School, Snoqualmie Middle School and Ignite! Dance and Yoga. Local credits include many roles with Unexpected Productions, Live Girls!, Macha Monkey, Jet City, Valley Center Stage and Northwest GOGA. Stephanie also works as a professional improviser for Effective Arts and leads the Ignite! Improv Troupe.
