“Color is only color according to amount and placement.” - Joseph Albers.
This course is geared toward breaking down the principals of color theory in order to give students control over composition, which can then be applied to any artistic medium. Students will spend half the class-time working on the color theory principals of Joseph Albers, Johannes Itten and others. The other half of class, students will apply these principals to one large, open-ended project.
This class offers a fun balance between disciplined learning and absolute creative freedom.
