In this introductory class students will build pinhole cameras demonstrating the very basics of camera operations and working with light sensitive materials. Students will transfer this knowledge to 35mm manual cameras and learn how to correctly expose black and white film to make contact sheets and basic enlargements in the darkroom. A final exhibition on the last day of class will allow students to learn how to prepare their prints for display.
Students are encouraged to bring their own cameras, but can also use 35mm film cameras provided by the school.
