Course Description
Students will learn basic processes and tools of both 2D and 3D animation by putting images and objects in motion.
This class will emphasize the creative exploration and practice of traditional hand-drawn techniques and means of production as well as introduce students to basic image manipulation and motion graphics software by producing a short animation. Students will explore acting techniques as well as gesture, character, landscape, setting and narrative through different approaches to modeling forms, structures, and 3D characters. Animation principles, concept modeling, production methods, history, theory and technique will be part of each project.

Instructor
Jacob Peter Fennell
Jacob Peter Fennell is an interdisciplinary artist who manipulates bits and bytes to create objects, video, animation, and sound. Fennell operates FNL Design, a design studio that creates websites, animation, interactive programming, and custom electronics solutions.
Fennell earned his Bachelors degree from University of Northern Iowa, and his MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
