Jim Phalen is a Seattle based artist with national representation in the Linda Hodges Gallery in Seattle, the Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco, and the Cumberland Gallery in Nashville. He has a BFA in Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute, and an MA and MFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Mexico. Phalen has been awarded prestigious grants from Pollock/Krasner, as well as Artist Trust, and he has been an Artist in Residence in Ireland. He has also been the subject of a one person exhibition at the Frye Art Museum. Jim has teaching experience at Bowdoin College, the University of Washington, Cornish College of the Arts, the University of Puget Sound, and SUNY Buffalo.
