Art + Design
The Art + Design program offers a number of an exciting, intensive studio experiences for students ages 15 to 18 who want to explore the visual arts in a professional art school setting. You will hone your skills, learn new techniques from working artists, and meet other students passionate about the visual arts. With a variety of scheduling options, Summer at Cornish provides the perfect platform to expand your knowledge, grow as an individual, develop strong portfolio pieces, and get a real taste of college life.

Pre-College Session
July 9 – July 27
Our three week, pre-college program prepares you in a comprehensive and rigorous fashion for the real challenges of art school and college life. Morning sessions run from 9 am – 12 pm and include Art + Design Pre-College Foundations and Portfolio Development. Individual Studio Courses run from
1 – 4 pm and include electives such as photography, printmaking, sculpture, painting, graphic design and digital media. Cornish is proud to present a final exhibition of student artwork on Friday, July 27.

Our one-week intensives are designed for the student who wants to dig deeper. These intensives are Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm, with a one-hour break for lunch. With 30 contact hours over five days with our stellar faculty, you will come to understand a particular medium with breadth and depth. These courses make a welcome week-long addendum to the pre-college program or may be taken on their own. All levels are welcome.
