2009 Annual Seattle Alumni Reception

Thursday, March 12, 2009
Nearly 100 Cornish alumni, faculty, staff, and trustees from all disciplines and generations gathered in March for the 2009 Annual Seattle Alumni Reception at ACT, the center for contemporary theater and arts in the greater Seattle area and a great supporter of Cornish alumni talent.
Reunited peers reconnected over their Cornish experiences and their latest accomplishments. Delicious refreshments were accompanied by a jazz trio lead by Clark Gibson (Music ’09), and guests received tours of ACT’s historic theater spaces throughout the evening. Alumni could also talk about their Cornish experiences in the Cornish Story Nook, a video booth confessional.
In an exciting addition to this year’s festivities, Susan Hutchison, Executive Director of the Charles Simonyi Fund for Arts and Sciences, announced that the Fund will match alumni giving, dollar-for-dollar, through May 31, 2010. Nate Brown (Music ’99) further explained that the match will be applied to the brand new Cornish Alumni Scholarship Endowment to help ensure that exceptional artists in all disciplines can continue their studies and follow in the footsteps of their alumni predecessors.
Note to Alumni:
Even if you weren’t able to attend this year’s reception, we still want to catch up with you! Cornish is very proud of all its alumni and their personal and professional achievements, and we want to know what you’ve been doing and tell other people about it, too. Stay in touch with us on the Cornish Alumni Website, and reconnect with fellow alumni on the new Cornish Alumni Facebook page!
