...I could tell that Cornish's training would pick up right where my previous training left off...

Inspiration
I am not sure what art I create. As of right now, the art I am most fond of creating is the art that happens in the experience of another person or persons, and the way I create those experiences is through performance.

Influence
When I was little I saw my uncle's production of Macbeth. In it, one of the three witches bent down and bit off the tongue of another witch. I remember thinking I wanted to do that some day... I mean be on stage... Not bite off someone's tongue.

Current Projects
Right now I am rehearsing for the Tempo of Recollection. It's sort of like a telling of the life of Erwin Schulhoff through his music and the dance inspired by his music. It should be pretty cool.

Hometown
I am from Vancouver, Washington. That's Vancouver... NOT BC... Washington... NOT DC.
Well the main difference is size. Vancouver is nothing more than a pretty big suburb of Portland, Oregon. All of the sudden I am living IN the city. IT's pretty exciting.

Why Cornish?
Well I first heard about Cornish when I was a 9th grader in High School. Hah. Seems so long ago. Someone came and talked to some students about how great Cornish was. I went up to visit the campus and fell in love. Later on I took some workshop/prospective student classes and they were really amazing and I could tell that Cornish's training would pick up right where my previous training left off, so I knew it would be a nice fit.

Experience
Amazing. I am so happy that I ended up at Cornish. It is teaching me everything I have wanted to know, it has me excited for my future, it is constantly inspiring me, and I have made some really awesome friends here. What more can you ask for? (Cheaper tuition?)

Hobbies
I knit. I suppose that isn't so quirky anymore. Oh! I tango and teach tango. Not many people can say that! I also took 2 years of Polynesian dance. I like doing dances from different cultures a lot.

In 5 Years
HOPEFULLY *fingers crossed* acting at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon.

Advice
Make sure it's the right fit for you before you come here. Come observe a class, take a workshop, talk to some students. If you end up here and it isn't the place for you that's ok. Just know that what you will learn at Cornish is very specific. The methods of teaching are sometimes very intense, but amazingly rewarding. This school will make you proud of your process and your product.

Process
I find that it changes depending on the project.
