Robynne Raye

RobynneRaye.gif Teaching makes me a better person and a better designer.

Which courses do you teach?

Graphic Studio 301 and 302, isn't that what it's called?

Why do you teach?

Because it makes me a better person and a better designer.

What brought you to Cornish?

In January 2000 I was asked to co-teach a class and somehow my name ended up on the next semester's class schedule.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

People who march to a different drummer.

What drew you to your field?

I didn't know how to do anything else and didn't see my self working in an office environment. Luckily I met my business partner in college and he was the person who encouraged me to pursue design as a career. Before meeting Mike I wanted to be an art teacher.

Tell us about your creative process:

It's different for every project but I usually start by scratching my head.

What projects are you currently working on?

A book project for Modern Dog, posters for the Crocodile Cafe and design work for Adobe.

What do you do for fun?

All the usual stuff that when I write it down makes me sound like an average person.

What do you like most about Cornish?

The new logo.

Anything else you would like to share?

I have a grumpy dog named Pete and a really expensive Bianchi road bike. I like to drink wine every night and my favorite TV show is The Office. My dream is to find a client who will pay my company enough money so that I can work remotely from a villa in Tuscany.
