Danela Lewis

Ballet

Danela Lewis

Danela began her training at Palos Verdes Ballet in Southern California. She continued her training with summer programs at San Francisco Ballet and participated in various workshops and regional performance groups. Danela went on to perform with San Francisco Ballet,  Bella Lewinski Co. and several California and Northwest regional companies. Although performing was her first love, Danela’s interest in teaching began at a young age. By the time she was 13, she was assisting in young level classes developing her understanding of teaching and sharing her love of dance.

Danela was a member of Dance Educators of America where she had the honor of working with many amazing dancers including Tatiana Riabouchinska, one of the infamous Baby Ballerinas, as well as choreographers across the United States. She has been a director for studios in California and Washington and has over 35 years of teaching experience.  It has been her goal to supplement her Ballet education by studying “anatomy of movement” to prevent injury and promote proper body placement for her students. Whether her students have gone on to be professional Ballet dancers, pursue dance degrees, or other career paths, all have left with a broader understanding of dance, love for the Arts, and the beauty they bring to our world.
