Preparatory Dance
The aims of the Cornish Preparatory Dance Program are to ensure that all students experience the joy of movement and develop a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance. Classroom work and performance opportunities instill in each student focus, discipline, accountability, efficacy and satisfaction through achievement.
The Cornish Preparatory Dance program provides a learning environment for all students interested in receiving classical dance training of the highest caliber. Regardless of students’ aspirations for a professional career or studying dance for recreational enjoyment, our faculty nurtures potential at every level of interest and ability.
Additionally, this program provides comprehensive classical ballet training — as well as additional classes in a variety of dance genres — creating an inclusive dance education program. Curriculum is based upon rigorous standards, infused with live music and is taught by experienced and distinguished faculty.
Faculty members of Cornish Preparatory Dance are committed to somatically sound principles of dance training integrated with thoughtful consideration of students’ mental well being. These core values provide opportunities for all students to discover individual creativity within traditional disciplines integral to the art form of dance.
