The aim of the Cornish Preparatory Dance Program (CPDP) is to ensure that all students experience the joy of movement, develop a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance, and are prepared for their next step in dance when they leave our program. Classroom work and performance opportunities instill in each student focus, discipline, accountability, efficacy and satisfaction through achievement.
CPDP provides a learning environment for all students interested in receiving classical dance training of the highest caliber. Whether our students’ aspire for a professional career, to dance in college, or study dance for recreational enjoyment; our faculty nurture potential at every level of interest and ability.
CPDP provides comprehensive classical ballet training, as well as additional classes in a variety of dance genres, creating an inclusive dance education program. Curriculum is based upon rigorous standards, infused with live music, and is taught by experienced and distinguished dance educators.
Faculty members of Cornish Preparatory Dance are committed to somatically sound principles of dance training integrated with thoughtful consideration of students’ mental well being. These core values provide opportunities for all students to discover individual creativity within traditional disciplines integral to the art form of dance.
Fall 2013 semester begins September 9, 2013.
Spring 2014 semester begins January 21, 2014.
