In your junior or senior year, you will embark on a full-time internship with a professional arts organization or with an established professional artist working in your areas of concentration. This 12-week professional internship will expose you to the realities of working in your chosen field and
allow you to begin the important process of developing your contacts in the professional world. Internships are arranged by the student, with the assistance of the department, and may satisfy up to 9 credits of major requirements. From time to time, qualified students are hired as assistants to our faculty in their work outside the college on productions and as consultants. In recent years, students have undertaken internships with most Seattle production companies and for distant organizations that include The International Festival of Arts & Ideas in New Haven, The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis, The Eugene O’Neill Center, the San Francisco Opera, The Costume Collection in New York City, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Deutches Oper Berlin, and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aries, Argentina.
