Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center, 201 Mercer Street, was originally built for the 1962 World's Fair. The mid-century modern theater has served as the home for two Tony Award-winning Seattle companies, Seattle Repertory Theatre and Intiman Theatre, and currently provides performance space for Cornish student productions and college-produced events as well as more than 30 nonprofit organizations annually.
The Cornish Playhouse at the Seattle Center has multiple rental spaces for events of every size. Spaces available to rent include: Main Auditorium, Cornish Playhouse Studio, Lobby,and Founders Room. Availability of spaces is based on Cornish’s educational requirements and current contracts.
The Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center's Main Audiotorium is a flexible performance space that can seat as many as 475 people; it can be used for dance performances, theater productions, screenings, meetings and more. The space is fully equipped and is familiar to Seattle audiences who have been attending performances there for more than 50 years.
This climate-controlled Cornish Playhouse Studio is suitable for rehearsals, auditions, studio showings, and intimate performances. The space is equipped with a piano, lights and sound system. This space can be modified to host corporate events such as meetings, product launches and cocktail receptions, as well as private events including weddings and birthday parties.
The Playhouse Lobby is a spectacular venue for corporate meetings, private receptions and parties. The lobby spaces can accommodate up to 500 people. The The Founder’s Room works well for meetings or conferences.
PONCHO Concert Hall, 710 East Roy, is located within the historic landmark building Kerry Hall in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. This intimate venue is used for student recitals and music events as well as college-produced concerts. Availability is based on Cornish’s educational requirements and current contracts.
