Performance Production Department

Here at Cornish College of the Arts, we are fortunate in our ability to work in and explore our craft in a unique environment.  Robert Edmond Jones once said, “The theatre demands of its craftsmen that they know their jobs.  The theatre is a school.  We shall never have done with studying and learning.  In the theatre, as in life, we try first of all to free ourselves, as far as we can, from our own limitations.  Then we can begin to practice ‘this noble and magical art.’ Then we may begin to dream.”
Students will study the craft of theatre in an independent department lead by faculty and staff that are working professionals in their respective fields—designers, stage managers, technical directors; scenic painters, craftspersons and artistic producers that bring their unique talent and voices to the training that provides the graduating student with a strong grounding in this specialized field of Performance Production.  The department is lead by Dave Tosti-Lane, Chair with core and interim core faculty comprised of Roberta Russell, Ron Erickson, Matthew Smucker, Greg Carter and John Wilson.
