Wayne Horvitz Receives Prestigious Grant

Congratulations to Cornish faculty member Wayne Horvitz whose project 55 Short Compositions was one of only 30 projects selected — out of approximately 800 applications — to receive a Multi-Arts Production (MAP) grant from the Creative Capital Foundation this year. 55 Short Compositions is a work for chamber ensemble by Wayne Horvitz to be recorded in the bunkers and cistern of Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington. Recorded by Tucker Martine, these segments will be edited and manipulated to create an electronic suite to be played throughout the bunkers of Fort Worden for two weeks in August 2012.
