Cornish College of the Arts Welcomes Four New Trustees

SEATTLE, WA – Cornish College of the Arts recently welcomed Alex Alben, Janet Frohnmayer, Dianne Loeb and Sean Owen to the Board of Trustees.
Alex Alben has played a leadership role in high tech companies that pioneered the field of electronic media. As an executive at RealNetworks and Starwave, Alben drew on his experience in the entertainment field and his expertise in intellectual property law to launch innovative and highly successful products. He has executed business strategies by supervising product development and managing business development.
Alben has represented the high tech industry in national and global policy groups. In 2004, he ran for the U.S. Congress from Washington’s 8th district. He is a recognized community leader and longtime Cornish supporter,
Janet Frohnmayer is a longtime education advocate. She is currently the Director of the Mercer Island School District Board of Directors and has been actively involved on the board since 2004 serving as both the vice president and president. She is also a member of the Washington Women’s Foundation, Seattle, the Puget Sound Community School and the Seattle Public Theater. Frohnmayer has been presented with numerous awards including, the PTA Council Golden Acorn Award for outstanding volunteer, the Lakeridge Elementary Golden Acorn Award and the Washington Association of School Administrators Community Recognition Award
Dianne Loeb is currently the Board President of Jewish Family Service here in Seattle. She has also served on the Board of the University Preparatory Academy, Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Pilchuck Glass School and Medina Children’s Services. She has been an active member on the Rainier Scholars Marketing Committee, Seattle Art Museum Education Committee, Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle Planned Giving Committee and the Museum of Glass Governance Committee. Loeb is dedicated and longtime philanthropist in the Puget Sound.
Sean Owen is a longtime friend an alumnus of Cornish College of the Arts (Music ’97). He went on to complete his doctorate in Musicology from the University of Southampton, England and is currently a Financial Advisor for Ameriprise Financial Services. He is actively involved as a member of the Cornish College of the Arts Alumni, Seattle Classic Guitar Society, Nature Conservancy, the Sierra Club, the Mountaineers and One Square Inch of Silence.
