Christine Bateman Becomes First Vice President of Marketing

Seattle, WA – Interim President Chris Kevorkian announced the latest addition to Cornish College of the Arts’ leadership team is Christine Bateman. An experienced and innovative promoter, Bateman will serve as the College’s Vice President of Marketing. Prior to joining Cornish, Bateman developed marketing curriculum for, and taught in, Seattle University’s BFA Arts Leadership program. She also has led marketing and communications for many local arts institutions, including Balagan Theatre and Intiman Theatre, where she fostered a groundbreaking partnership with Fred Hutch to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS research.

“Cornish is traversing a time of great change – and I’m a change agent,” said Bateman, sharing her excitement at joining the 103-years-young Seattle institution. “A gorgeous story exists for every artist-citizen-innovator here, and I’m ready to share those stories with our community.”

Bateman holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University and a BFA in Communications from Valparaiso University. She has previously worked with Steppenwolf Theatre Company; Mystic Seaport – The Museum of America and the Sea; the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; and Cornish alum Jerick Hoffer (aka drag superstar Jinkx Monsoon).
