Internationally renowned Voice and Text Coach Andrew Wade held a workshop with Cornish Theatre Department’s junior class on September 30, 2008. He led them on a detailed exploration of Shakespeare’s language in the play Othello.
A graduate of the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama, Mr. Wade rose to prominence as assistant to Cicely Berry, author of several ground-breaking texts on Shakespeare’s language. As head of voice for the world’s most prominent Shakespeare theatre, Britain’s Royal Shakespeare Company, Mr. Wade oversaw all voice and text coaching from 1990-2003.
Mr. Wade has traveled extensively, lecturing and leading master classes and workshops in Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Singapore, Switzerland and throughout the US. He is currently in residence at the Guthrie Theatre. His numerous credits also include his role as verse consultant for the Academy Award-winning film “Shakespeare in Love.”
