Pianist Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa presents a recital of new works for solo piano by nine contemporary Canadian composers including Denis Gougeon, Jordan Nobles, Jocelyn Morlock, Alexander Pechenyuk, Jennifer Butler, Rodney Sharman, Marci Rabe, Jeffrey Ryan, and Cornish faculty member Emily Doolittle.
Cosmophony is a solo piano performance inspired by our solar system. The concert includes nine solo piano pieces by Canada’s most prominent composers and brightest rising stars plus George Crumb’s remarkable work Makrokosmos II: 12 Fantasy Pieces After the Zodiac.

The Icicle Creek Piano Trio featuring Oksana Ezhokina, piano, Sally Singer, cello, and Jennifer Caine, violin, perform works by Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Turina.
Hailed by Gramophone magazine for its “warmly considered playing” and “meticulous articulation and blend,” The Icicle Creek Piano Trio is the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Icicle Creek Music Center, in Leavenworth, Washington. The members of the Icicle Creek Piano Trio originated from the U.S., U.K., and Russia. Together and as individuals, they have performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Alice Tully Hall, the Phillips Collection, and the Royal Albert Hall, and have toured Austria, Germany, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. On the West Coast, they have performed at Pacific Lutheran University, the University of Puget Sound, the Seattle Sherman Clay Recital Hall, the Governor’s Mansion in Olympia, Benaroya Hall in Seattle, the University of Santa Barbara, Cornish College of the Arts, and Davies Hall in San Francisco.
